Never Forget. . . Never Again

Never Forget . . . Never Again is Dana Baldwin Naumann’s deeply personal response to the Holocaust, shaped by his friendship with survivor Sigmund Strochlitz and by the stories of those who endured its unimaginable human cost. Across seventeen sculptures and seventeen accompanying poems, Naumann confronts suffering, fear, anger, compassion, remembrance, and the enduring responsibility carried by those who come after.

Decades after creating the series, Naumann returned to these words and recorded each poem in his own voice, revisiting the emotions that first gave the work its form. Sculpture, poetry, and voice now come together as one experience, carrying the work beyond the moment in which it was created and into the present.

This is not only an act of remembrance. It is an invitation to look, to listen, to feel, and to consider what it means to never forget.
